Dan Hinckley

May 23, 1960 - January 14, 2023

Dan Warren Hinckley, age 62, passed away late on January 14, 2023 at his place of residence. Dan was born on May 23, 1960 to Phillip Warren and Connie Rae (Bills) Hinckley in Provo, Utah. He is preceded in death by his mother, Connie, who died in October 2021 and survived by his father. He is the second of six children and is survived by all of his siblings: Lloyd (Sharon) Hinckley, Jaynie Rae (Lee) Nielsen, Todd (Mindy) Hinckley, Connie Sue (Chip) Butler, and Beckie (Ryan) Weber.

He graduated from Provo High School in 1978 and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Vancouver British Columbia Mission from 1984-1986.

Service and compassion were Dan’s trademarks. He cared for his mom and his grandfather, George F. Bills, in the last years of their lives as they battled cancer and other physical ailments. He also served as a live-in caretaker for a disabled friend for several years. He worked at Signetics and W.W. Clyde. Dan never married or had a formal career and preferred to do odd jobs to help others. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and fixing small appliances and electronics for family and friends. He could fix anything and knew details about almost any subject. He read extensively and had an amazing ability to retain what he learned.

A private graveside service will be held for his immediate family and interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.

Dan and I went through grade school together at Sunset View.  He was always a kind and gentle person.
When ever I think about those times Dan comes to my mind in a very good way.
I will always remember you Dan.
