In Memory

Scott Syme

Scott Syme

Scott Williams Syme, age 58, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born on June 28, 1960 in Provo, Utah, the second oldest of six children to John and Joan Syme.

Scott grew up in Provo and graduated from Provo High, it was there he developed a passion for printing. He spent 20 years working in the print industry, and found a love for managing and working alongside the people there. Scott took his skills, hard work, and abilities to many different industries; ending with his current role as Compliance Manager at Temkin International.

He married the love of his life, Keri Wolsey, on July 11, 1981 in the Salt Lake Temple and they were married for 37 wonderful years. Scott loved doing anything outside; he spent countless hours in the mountains, gardening, and striving for landscaping perfection in his yard. Those who knew Scott know of the dedication he had when it came to service. One of his favorite things to do was finding individuals that he could help.

He is survived by his wife Keri, and his two daughters Amy (Joshua) Titus and Emily Syme. His parents John and Joan Syme, his three brothers Les (Gaylene) Syme, John Dale (Kimberly) Syme, Alan (Michelle) Syme, and his two sisters Laurie (Creig) Rowley and Jennie (Lance) Smith.

Scott and I lived a 1/2 block from each other, we attened school from grade school through high school together.  Scott was a great guy, always kind and nice.  My heart goes out to Kerri and his family.

The Symes’ Family lived down the street from our family. In younger years, we would hang out and explore the new homes being built around us.

Scott was always a fun friend to hang out with.

This is sad news and I send my condolences to Keri and family.

Scott and Keri have a very special place in my heart. The most amazing thing about Keri IS Scott . . . And the most amazing thing about Scott is Keri.  The important part of your love story is the miricle that happened in July of 1981 . . . Those covenants in the Salt Lake Temple are legit!  When you feel like eating worms or moving to Austalia, Just remember the promises that have been given to you.   Love you Keri
