David Eugene Manning
January 16, 1960 - July 4, 2019
David Eugene Manning, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away from heart complications on Thursday, July 4th, 2019 at the Mountain View Hospital in Payson, Utah. He was born January 16th, 1960 in Northridge, California to Walter Eugene and Joellyn Manning of Salem, Utah. On September 10th, 1981 he married his sweetheart and eternal companion, Cindy Christopherson, in the Idaho Falls temple. 
After graduating from Provo High School in 1978 and serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Columbia, Bogota mission, he went on to obtain his A.A.S. in Drafting Technology, his B.S. in Technology Management, and his M.Ed. in Instructional Technology. His work experience included surveying, drafting, and designing at various firms before accepting a job at UVU where he has been teaching in the Engineering and Design Technology Department for the last 28 years, specializing in many different areas of the drafting field.
He was known by many for his great service to those around him, his creativity, his great advice, and his wonderful dad jokes. He showed his dedication to his family by never missing a sporting event, a performance, or a parent teacher conference. His hobbies include shooting, fishing, sports, woodworking, painting, reading, camping with his family, and all things sci-fi.
David is survived by his parents, Gene and Joellyn Manning, his loving and devoted wife, Cindy, and children: Kelsie (Jeremy) Black, Alissa (David) Holloway, Tacy (Michael “Cole”) Delgado, Derek (Kayla) Manning, Chad Manning. Grandchildren: Shaylee, Hallie, and Makell Black; Brock, Brigham, Brenner, and Brody Holloway. Siblings: Maureen (Brent) Warren, Shannon Manning.
David was preceded in death by his brother Sean Patrick Manning.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9th, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Payson Stake Center, 650 West 800 South, Payson. Friends may visit with family on Monday, July 8th, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, or one hour before services at Payson Stake Center from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Salem City Cemetery.

Dave and I were in the drafting program together at good old "Utah Technical College". Unfortunately we spent most of our time together down in the student center honing our "space invaders" and "frogger" skills! I also remember the great river rafting trip/camp out with him and our drafting department, . . . Oh and there was also mud football! Dave loved life and loved to laugh. I don't know anyone who enjoyed laughter more than him!! It was too soon, and you will be greatly missed! Love you man!
